About

Cristina Vaira is a Singer-Songwriter, Producer, Performer and Entrepreneur. Born in Milan, Italy, she moved to United States in 2011 to  attend and graduate from world famous Berklee College of Music, with a major in Songwriting. Her dedication to singing brought her to the stage of X-FACTOR Italy, but most of all helped her to discover her true path: spreading consciousness through music and art. In her latest projects indeed, she featured as Lead Singer in the music video filmed and produced by Jandro Cisneros (filmmaker, composer, producer), her husband, in collaboration with the Mexican General Consulate in Boston, in honor of the victims of the major earthquakes happened in 2017 in Mexico, and to raise donation for the cause. She featured as Lead-Singer and Songwriter in the soundtrack composed by Jandro Cisneros for the featured documentary "Nunc Coepi, Now I Begin", a collaboration with the Vatican; her voice can be also found in the soundtrack of the short documentary "Cachorro", official selection of the EcoFilm Festival in Mexico, just to name a few.  She also holds a Master in Communication for Music Industry, and previously, she worked at the record label EMI Music Italy, in the Marketing & Promotion Department, promoting artists such as Joss Stone, Jet, Kings of Convenience, Lily Allen, 30 Seconds to Mars, Tiziano Ferro, Valerio Scanu and many others. She is currently working with her husband on the first album of The Pillars, which will be released in 2018.

Teaching Style

Ciao! I love to teach and all my students can feel it since the very first minute. I try to make them feeling comfortable, creating a space free of judgments and  shame, and I encourage them to become aware of their own strengths through self-awareness. For me each student matters a lot and I try to give 100% to all of them. I care to see them growing in their vocal training either they want to do it as a hobby or as a profession, and I provide them with the necessary techniques to educate themselves, whatever their level of study may be. These include breath support/control, tone quality, interpretation, song study, genre/style analysis, and performance techniques. Since I've been working especially with kids and teenagers and their attention spam is short, I make my classes very interactive, fun and challenging, and I enjoy it a lot; at the end of the class everybody is happier, included me! I love to work setting goals and planning personalized strategies with my students, to understand how I can help them better and better each lesson. I prepare my students also offering Music Theory instructions, including Ear Training and Contemporary Jazz Harmony, if there is an interest in diving deeper into the music world! By the end of every class I care that my student and I feel enriched and more joyful!
