Loren Gold

Loren Gold is an American keyboardist, vocalist and songwriter. Since 2012, Loren has been the keyboardist / backup vocalist for The Who, including Roger Daltrey since 2009. Other artists he has toured with include Kenny Loggins, Don Felder, and American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. Loren builds and hires bands for major tours, those of which have included pop stars Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. Loren has two instructional books published through Alfred Music.

Loren Gold is an American keyboardist, vocalist and songwriter.  Raised in Palo Alto, California, he has toured extensively with various rock, pop, and soul artists.  Since 2012, Loren has been the keyboardist / backup vocalist for The Who, and has performed with Roger Daltrey‘s since 2009.  Gold has served as Musical Director for younger artists, such as Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and American Idol winner Taylor Hicks (Loren was co-writer on “The Runaround,” the opening track on Taylor’s RCA debut album) .He has also performed with Kenny Loggins, Natalie Maines and Don Felder, among many others.  Loren has released two instruction books through Alfred Music Publishing, featuring interactive tracks and improvisational tips.

Classically trained from age seven, he continued studies in ragtime, blues, rock, gospel, and R&B.  Loren spent several years writing, recording and performing in original bands, which lead to touring with established artists, session work, songwriting, and accompanying singer/songwriters of all genres.

Keyboardist for legendary rock band The Who and Roger Daltrey since since 2009.  As a professional musician and teacher for over 20 years, I know how to make lessons fun and productive.  I have two instructional books published through Alfred Music; Sitting In: Rock Piano and Sitting In; Blues Piano.

Performing in front of tens of thousands of people night after night, I have learned many things along the way. I have also performed with Kenny Loggins, Don Felder, Taylor Hicks, among many others.  As Musical Director, I have instructed musicians, built bands, and developed artists such as Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Hilary Duff, and American Idol winner Taylor Hicks.

I will teach you any popular or classic rock song of your choosing (Elton John, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, etc), and show you small little nuances that you can apply, making a world of difference in the sound of the performance - i.e. subtle expressions the artists play on the recording, which are not notated in the sheet music.
