Anthony Buccicone
About
Studied music at the University of Pittsburgh where I studied guitar with Joe Negri and Jim Ferla. Currently active playing with Murphy's Music Center Big Band, 56 East, and Act II duo. I have taught guitar for over 30 years to individuals and groups in my own business and through several private schools.
Teaching Style
I believe in learning good fundamentals to be applied in the musical direction of the students choice.
Curriculum
Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and Berklee Modern Guitar Method. I supplement all lessons with handouts dealing with various moveable scales, chords and the CAGED system. I also like for students to pick music that they are interested in to apply their fretboard knowledge. Other books that I suggest for advanced students are "A Common Sense Approach to Improvisation" by Joe Negri and Jazz Scale Workout byKen Karsh.
Credentials & Affiliations
Bachelor Degree in music from the University of Pittsburgh. I teach at Murphy's Music, AK Music.
