About
Recently, I have helped students prepare for a performance at the Kennedy Center, audition for high school and college, write and produce their own albums, meet their yearly goals for music and prepare for recitals. This spring, I helped a student with audition prep and the student got the lead role in the school musical!
A little about me:
I hold a BA in music and a MMEd (master’s degree in music education). I have toured the US with various bands and ensembles including an indie-rock quintet, a 10-piece chamber rock ensemble, a big band orchestra and as a solo musician. I compose and perform my own music and just released my second album of original music.
I have been teaching piano, voice, guitar & songwriting privately and in schools for over 14 years. I enjoy working with students of all ages to develop a curriculum that is in line with the student’s goals. I strive to keep lessons fun while helping students discover their musical voices.
My teaching philosophy:
I incorporate a variety of teaching methods to best serve each student’s goals. I strive to keep lessons fun while helping students discover their musical voices. I gently guide students to discover musical concepts such as music theory and technique. I believe in building students’ confidence and helping them discover their fullest potential in music expression and songwriting.
I can accommodate small group lessons in addition to 1:1 private lessons. Contact me for more information.
