Jeffrey Akhareyi

My name is Jeffrey Akhareyi and I was born in Bronx, New York on May 25, 1992. I was raised in Yonkers for most of my life and now I live in Newport News, Virginia. Right now, I work as a mechanical engineer. I graduated on May 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. As a student, I made the Dean's List twice. In terms of tutoring, I have 3 and a half years of tutoring experience, mostly online. I am very familiar with the use of online whiteboards, like Webex and Wiziq . My tutoring sessions were usually between 30 minutes and 2 hours. 

I was also a scholar athlete when I was in high school while being part of the fall cross country team. My hobbies include watching sports, playing video games, and watching Youtube.

My teaching style involves me going over the homework with the student and I would usually make the student do similar problems to the ones he was assigned for homework. I try my best to go over each problem step by step so that the student can clearly understand. I try not too teach too fast because I realize that the student needs to be able to clearly grasp the information. I am also patient with the student because I realize that I may have to explain certain problems more than once. I try to make the student feel at ease and be as friendly as possible. I want the student to see me as a positive role model.
