my name is Tyler Johnson and I teach German at a local community college in Tennessee. At this community college, I teach beginning 1 and 2, and intermediate 1 and 2, which in the European Language Realm around a A1- low B1 (if taken seriously).
I am from Alabama but grew up in Georgia. I completed my undergraduate degree in Modern and Foreign Languages at Kennesaw State University, after which I completed a successful gap year in Erlangen working at Siemens Healthineers. In 2016, I started my master's degree at University of Tennessee, in German Language and Literature. I finished this degree in August 2018. During my masters, I worked as a Teaching Assistant and Associate, and spent a semester abroad at a partner institute as a research assistant in the departments of Middle High German and Contemporary German.
I currently teach English online and German at Pellissippi State Community College.
Teaching Style
I believe that students should find their own interest in Language Acquisition. When the student does not know why they are learning the language, or an interest therein, they will not have any fun with it. I do then think that when I can help students find their voice and their interest, so that they can learn in their own time and style.
