Yanjun Liu

I have a master degree of foreign language teaching of New York University. Through this two-year graduate study, I not only master the skills of foreign language teaching but also knowing that building a good relationship and providing a supportive learning environment is essential for students. I am a full time teacher in a public charter school now and also have my student teaching in both private and public school before. Through these precious teaching experience, I already build my own teaching system and philosophy. Learning is a mutual process, I could also learn from my student as much as they learn from me. I believe I could provide the best learning experience for your child!

Three words that my students used to describe me are patient, warm and organized and I am really glad for this description because these three words are always my goal of an ideal teacher. I hope my students could really learn from me in the long-term, not only learn the knowledge but also learn how to learn knowledge. Language is not only a tool but also a system where you can master the mystery of the world. Once you master one language, you are also given the key to other languages. We all know Chinese is one of the hardest language in the world, but the most complicated language is always accompany with the most beautiful core and culture. In my class, I will not only introduce the language itself but also provide a lens to the culture. Learning the culture is also a basic for knowing a language. Also, apart from imparting knowledge,  my purpose of the class is to stimulate and maintain the interest of learning the language and even fall in love with the language, I will achieve this goal by preparing a good lesson plan, giving supportive learning environment and also use a variety of teaching methods.
