Bethany Melville

My name is Bethany and I am eager to teach! I have played piano for a total of 24 years. I took lessons for 10 full years and by the age of 15 I was playing in churches through out Georgia. Currently I am a pianist for a 10 piece worship band in a church averaging around 600 on Sundays. On Wednesdays I play southern gospel in a 5 piece band for my church. We also travel and play oldies/classic rock for events. I have taught children beginner piano lessons while I was attending college and I have played professionally for weddings, events, and internationally in Peru on live national television. The genres I typically gravitate towards are current worship music, southern gospel, and classic rock. 

My teaching style is very simplified in learning the basics of music theory. I prefer to teach traditional piano lessons while getting to know the student and learning what interests them as they progress. Teaching the student to read and play the notes with the correct fingering on the keys. Teaching the timing, the rhythm, but allowing them to find their style that pushes them to excel in their talents.
