McKenna Michels

I am a 20 year old business student at the University of Texas at Austin. I have been playing piano for 12 years and have experience teaching children ages 3-13 and Beginner-Intermediate adults. I was an Opera singer for 4 years and performed at the Kennedy Center with the Washington National Opera in 2017. I am now a singer/songwriter in Austin, TX, and specialize in Pop vocals. I look forward to teaching you and will do what I can to make sure you're on track to where you want to be!

My teaching style is entirely based on the individual student. I will first ask their level of experience, ask them to show me a bit of what they can do, then sit down and evaluate their goals. We'll make a schedule and steps to help them achieve those goals. I want my students to know that music isn't about perfection. Mistakes and failure will happen, but it's how we handle those things that will make us great. I want to be the person to encourage my students to make mistakes, believe in themselves, and be there to pick them up when they fall.
