Debra Knox
About
Debra Knox is an award winning writer, musician, actress and music educator. She has taught guitar, piano, voice and writing for 30 plus years. Debra directed musical theater with San Francisco Shakespeare, and was the resident music director for The City of Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Services for 17 years.
She studied writing at Berklee College of Music and has won 14 major awards for her writing, including The New York Screenplay Competition, The Beverly Hills Film Festival, The California Film Award, The Golden Palm Award, The Hollywood International Film festival, The Hollywood Boulevard Film festival, The Birch Award for Creative Writing, The Wildsound Comedy Festival.
Teaching Style
I am a multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist, and have a wide range of expertise, having taught Classical, Jazz, Broadway, Rock, Pop, and Country Music.
Lessons are focused on notation, chords, improvisation, style, technique and performance.
