Teaching Style

Teaching brass instruments is a passion and joy of mine.  20 years in the classroom have taught me to work with multiple learning styles.  Generating excitement for playing is primary goal.  Creativity and Joy are my main teaching tools to help navigate the challenges of learning/perfecting an instrument.  I have coached beginners to professionals working through common brass hurdles.

Professionally, my groups have enjoyed success playing concerts in premier venues.  Receiving awards of outstanding ensemble, soloist awards, and statewide recognition.  Several students have gone on to teach and perform professionally.  Personally, I have enjoyed success early in my career performing for solo contests and receiving top awards.  Performing is a true joy for me.  Starting with Wind Bands, moving to professional orchestras, and finally participating in the rising brass band movement in NYC.  I love brass instruments and have lots to share!!
