Pete Giuliani
About
My music is founded on study of classical guitar and love of Rock, Blues, Folk, Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, and World Music. Early influences include Bach and The Beatles, but exposure to progressive rock bands such as Yes, Genesis, and ELP ignited my passion for the guitar. Fusion artists such as Al DiMeola, Jean-Luc, Ponty, and John McLaughlin were a further early inspiration. At the same time, the great classic rock artists of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s provided a musical backdrop which strongly influences my playing to this day. My contemporary influences include John Mayer, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Steve Morse and Dream Theater, among others, and I continually embrace my love of many musical styles.
I currently perform as the lead guitarist and vocalist for The Pete Giuliani Band, an Acoustic/Electric group that showcases infectious grooves, playful improvisations, and creative interpretations of cover songs. We fuse tight arrangements, crafted vocal harmonies, and exciting instrumental adventures into an experience that keep audiences up and dancing.
As a solo performer, my instrumental and vocal skills bring my original songs to life, and my eclecticism leads listeners down many musical paths. During a typical performance, I'm likely to perform an original instrumental piece along with a tune by Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, The Jackson 5, Green Day or Prince. Whether it's an original song or a unique interpretation of a cover tune, making a connection with the audience through music is the most important thing.
