Allison Passanisi

Allison is a Boston-based marimbist with a background in both the marching arts and classical marimba performance. She earned her BA in music education from Berklee College of Music and her MM in marimba performance from the Boston Conservatory, where she studied with Nancy Zeltsman. Allison began her teaching career in 2011 and has experience teaching a variety of students of all levels and all ages, from 5 to adulthood.

Whether you are a beginner just learning to play, an experienced player looking to take a deeper dive into artistry, or are seeking help with preparing for auditions (DCI, WGI, college/conservatory, or otherwise), Allison can help you reach your musical goals. She borrows elements of many educational methods, concepts used in the Alexander Technique, and considering the overall well being and state of mind of her students to create a holistic and individualized experience. She strongly believes in meeting the students where they are and maximizing their natural strengths to make the most of their experience and growth.
