Rui Guimarães

Hi my name is Rui Guimarães and im 24 yold. Im from Guimarães, Portugal. I started to study violin when i was 6 yold but i started to get involved in music when i was 3 i started with piano because my family loves music and i have family members that play cello, guitar, drumms, viola and violin. i changed from piano to violin for no real reason i just got bored of piano like its normal to kids to get bored of things. I started to play at 6 and from that moment on i only had a teacher until i was 18, he played in one of the biggest orchestras in Portugal (orquestra do norte) and now he was starting to teach. i did all the 8 grades of ABRSM in london and at 18 i was teaching in a school in my hometown (workshopmusic) and played for 6 months in a orchestra but it ended because had not enough funds like always in portugal. so i teached for 3 years to kids from ages between 4 and 15 and then i decided i wanteed to travel so i stayed in italy for 6 months and 1 year and a half in germany, im leaving in June/July to Salt lake city or i entend to take some music classes at the college.

Like i said i did the 8 grades in london of the ABRSM and teached for 3 years to kids between 4 and 15. Im fine teaching people of all ages. One thing i can tell you right now is that you can come to the classes but if you dont study that will be nothing i can do for you its cliche but you really have to practice theres no miracles. my teaching style depends of the students if you just want to learn for fun and to have a new skill im not going to be to hard on you but if you tell me that you want to become a violinist or to do something envolving the violin im going to do eberuthing to help you( when i say hard its not in a mean way is just that probably i will be a little more honest and try to push you as much as possible
