I want to teach my students the amazing opportunities and resources that music can bring. I had to deal with the harsh realities of life at a young age and the one thing that stuck with me and really helped me along the way was my music. It gave me another place to go when I felt too weighed down, gave me a reality that I could create. Each individual has a different feeling or outcome from a piece of music, I want to encourage self-confidence and individuality in each students playing. I want to give my students the same opportunities that I have had in my life to help them get through the hard times that may come, and always give them an outlet to get away for a little bit.

I will help push to become better at not only in music but in self-respect and respect towards others, I play because to me, music helps mend the broken and heal the internal wounds. But to someone else, they may play for another reason, in the end, though we are all playing because of our love for music.

I thrive on learning new things about performance and playing the flute, teaching students will allow me to disperse my knowledge even more and get to put it into effect. I am a strong believer in the more you teach the better you teach, therefore I want my students to challenge me as well to find the best solutions to any problem that may come my way. I have played in many bands/ orchestras as well as marching bands along my educational path and have done many solo performances. I love to find fun ways to practice and prepare for a performance in order to get the most out of your time and to have a great time performing!

I can't wait to get started teaching the wonders of music! I work well with all ages as I am excited for anyone that is interested in this amazing art. I am confident that we will make it far, as I love the challenge that a new student can bring. Let's learn flute together!

My goal in teaching lessons is to encourage self-confidence and individuality in a player. Everyone has different feelings or outcomes that come from a performed or played piece, that is what makes music so special; it is never the same.

I will take my students through the basics of learning the flute ending with a good tone and understanding of how the flute works. Once established we will begin to work on any music they wish to play, I feel this is the best way to keep motivation high and help encourage the learning process. The end goal here is for my students to pick up any piece they wish and be able to teach it to themselves and perform. I will however still be choosing some music that I know will still benefit them, as of scales and etudes, nothing too hard but will only help the student along the way in performing. My lessons stay relaxed and with a positive atmosphere, again music is different for each person, but we are all here because we love music.

I will keep a journal of what the students are to work on and have accomplished so they can always look back on the material they should have prepared for the next lesson and so they can as well see what they have accomplished and gone through.
