About

I wanna get you on your musical journey ASAP! Hi my name is Mackie, and I am a multi instrumental songwriter/producer with a love for helping everyone to reach their musical goals. I’ve had extensive experience: teaching, playing, recording, and songwriting/producing music sense 2011. Since I am a musician with many hats: this helps to keep students on track in terms of the bigger picture when it comes to learning music. For me: it’s absolutely important that students don’t get stuck agonizing over theory or exact technique all the time. As a teacher: my mission is to get The students wherever they want to go creatively; and let the thirst for learning/creativity grow from there. As a guitar/bass player: I have specialized in multiple genres such as jazz, bossanova, funk, disco, pop, rock, and metal just to name a few. When it comes to singing: I specialize in rock vocals, pop vocals, rap/hip-hop, and metal. Along with singing comes lyrics: and I have specialized in writing for the aforementioned genres as well. So I can help you learn how to write words that don’t only sound cool, but properly express how you feel.

Thanks to my background in music production/audio engineering: I can help get you from creating your musical ideas, to capturing them properly, and finally showing them to the world. This includes everything from: teaching about affordable equipment, setup/home use, various microphones/placement techniques, working with midi, sound design techniques, and also mixing/mastering.

I am taking students ages seven and up: and I am offering a free 15 minute consultation to everyone so we can put our best foot forward before the lessons even officially begin.

If you can’t tell I’m definitely excited to get started: so if you’re ready to pluck your first string, sing your first notes, write your first lyrics, or record your first song, then let’s get you booked as soon as possible!

Teaching Style

I would say my teaching style is structured but open. I try my absolute best to create a relaxed environment where the student can feel like they can talk to me not just about music, but about anything else that’s going on in their life. As creatives: anything that happens in our lives tends to affect how we create, or how we learn to create; so I try to do my best to make them feel as comfortable as possible, but at the same time keeping ourselves on track with whatever we are trying to go over in the lesson.
