About

Hi! I am a London born professional guitarist living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Over the last 20 years I have been involved in musical projects of different styles including contemporary Jazz groups, Jazz Big Bands, Afro/Reggae/Funk/Soul bands, among others.  I have studied at ITMC school of music in Bs. As and at the Jazz department of the Manuel de Falla conservatory along with workshops and private lessons with distinguished artists.

I am passionate about teaching jazz vocabulary and in aiding my students to develop the necessary tools to be comfortable in improvising over any tune, playing chord melody's, and accompanying any musician with a rich harmonic language.  These tools include theory, fretboard mechanics, rhythmic practices, improvisation concepts, healthy practice routines and styilistic knowledge

Teaching Style

Lessons take shape after assessing each students needs, curiosity and areas to develop.
In our lesson we will look at the materials that we will need to practice in order to develop an improvisational vocabulary (intervals, triads, arpeggios, scales, etc)For this I will provide graphic material to visualize the fretboard effectively.
I will suggest way's of practicing these materials in the most musical way possible, including paying attention to rhythm and also being conscious of the sounds that we are learning. We will expand our harmonic vocabulary by studying how harmonic content reveals itself on the guitar and in organizing practice routines and exercises to have command of these elements.  This will include guide tones, triads, open and closed voicing's, 7th chords, Drop 2 and 3 voicing's, among other topics. We will always aim to practice these topics in context, over standards, popular tunes and variations of the blues form.
