Teaching experience:
Andy is a well known Guitar and Music teacher in the East Midlands, UK. Previous and current teaching work at Derby University, Derby College, South East Derbyshire College, Bilborough College, Derby High School, Repton School, S. Anselm's School, Littleover Community School, Landau Forte College, Allestree Woodlands School, The Kingsmead School.
Playing experience:
As guitarist for rock band The Beyond, Andy signed to EMI Records, released 2 albums and toured Europe and America with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Living Colour, The Bloodhound Gang, EMF, KT Tunstall, Hot Chip etc.
Andy has performed in classical and jazz concerts as well as many session gigs across all genres.
Currently writing and producing music for TV/Film and songs for artists, Andy has played guitar on TV commercials/productions for brands such as webuyanycar.com , Disney Junior and Sainsbury's among many others.
Qualifications:
Grade 8 ABRSM Classical Guitar, Grade 8 Guidhall Plectrum Guitar, Grade 8 RSL Electric Guitar, Grade 8 RSL Acoustic Guitar, Grade 8 ABRSM Music Theory.
Teaching Style
Andy's lessons are tailored to you - giving daily exercises to build technique, while working toward Graded music exams or purely learning songs in a progressive way.
You will learn how to apply scales and chords and how they work in the music you choose to play.
Andy will look at progress between lessons and solve any challenges that come up with very effective methods!
