Cole Holden

Growing up in a household surrounded by music, Cole was interested in drums from a young age. He finally picked up the sticks after turning 10 and never put them down after being inspired by the likes of John Bonham, Steve Gadd, and Tony Williams. By age 12 he was in his first band and performing at church, school and around town; things were starting to pick up for him. He became known to his community as the young drummer with pocket, swagger, and a rock-solid backbeat. His personality and work ethic opened doors and created new opportunities in high school to work with the musical theater program, marching band, and serve as a leader for school and friends’ bands. This is when Cole knew for certain that music was his calling.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia; Cole moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music to study and perform with some of the greatest musicians in the world. Majoring in Professional Music with concentrations in performance, music production, and music business; he is not just a versatile drummer but a well-rounded musician. Cole takes whatever opportunities are given that he feels will help his musical growth; he is no stranger to playing R&B, jazz, Latin, rap, blues, and various other styles. His dynamic range is confident at both loud and quiet, allowing him to act as a chameleon and slide into any gig situation when the times comes. And he wants to share his years of knowledge and experience with you!

Cole is a very laid back, relaxed teacher that creates a nurturing environment that caters to the students' wants and needs, the goal is growth! Cole takes more of a hands on approach to drumming; he introduces concepts by showing the student context. We will learn new beats and rudiments through learning songs, drum fills, and exercises! Cole does teach out of books but he believes by showing you the context of what we are learning, the student fully understands and it makes it much easier to apply these concepts to new situations and music!
