Olivia Barron

Hello hello! My name is Olivia Barrón, and I'm SO excited to finally begin teaching online! 

As a musician studying at Berklee College of Music (B.M. Songwriting, minor in MT Writing), I've had privilege and access to the great resources and teaching methods I've found here, while also maintaining my identity as a songwriter. I love collaborative writing, I love music theory, and I love helping others peel back the layers of their music to find what really makes it work! Song- and Lyric-writing lessons are for ANYONE-- the anxious beginner OR the experienced writer, and anyone in-between.

My vocal lessons are primarily musical theater-based, as well as general "pop". I have over 6 years of professional experience onstage, 2 years experience with at-home vocal recording, and am a recipient of a Las Casas Joci Awards scholarship for musical theater. I've performed in iconic Texas venues such as Gruene Hall and the Charlene Mccombs Empire Theater. A large part of my education has been dedicated to vocal health and performance techniques. Together, we'll find the tools to help you sing with confidence and ease!

Laid-back, student-driven lessons designed to empower you, the individual!

Song- and Lyric-writing lessons focus on melody, harmonic structure, and arrangement. Again, these lessons are based on what the student wants--lyric rewrites, second opinions, brainstorming techniques, etc. DAW of choice is Logic (if you work in a DAW) but this is by no means necessary! Trust me, I've done it all-- if you write acoustic and stitch it together through garageband, you're not alone. And I have tips!

Voice lessons are focused primarily on health and sustainable performance techniques for classical, musical theater, and pop voices. If you're prepping for an audition, expanding your range, or curious about exploring new styles, these classes are for you.
