Billy Rager
About
I started playing the guitar was I was 13, 43 years later here we are - I am ready to teach what I have learned. I never really had lessons myself but have gathered lots of knowledge, tips and tricks over the years.
I have been teaching the guitar on and off for over 30 years; in person at music stores, at student's homes and my own, and over video. I cannot read music myself but I read tabs. I am very laid back and try to encourage students along our guitar journey together.
I have played in a lot of different projects, Rock bands with radio airplay all over the world and Christian festivals, nightclubs both full and empty. I have opened shows for legends and nobodies but learned something from each of them.
I am influenced by Randy Rhoads, Edward Van Halen, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani , Steve Vai, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robert Johnson, Bill Nelson and so, so many more amazing guitarists. I never really try to copy someone but learn to capture the spirit of their styles and emulate that.
Teaching Style
I teach anyone from intermediate students to advanced. I am a very patient teacher and have a passion for passing on what I have learned on the guitar.
Technique, Vibrato, Speed and Articulation, Finger Independence and Endurance, lots to do and a very chill vibe.
