With 24 years of piano experience and 10 years of teaching, I am deeply committed to guiding students toward mastery and joy in their musical journey. I’ve had the privilege of studying piano professionally, and my knowledge spans a wide array of genres, from the complexity of classical and baroque to modern styles. I take pride in seeing my students flourish, many of whom have earned spots at prestigious music institutions and received scholarships. My teaching approach is tailored to each student’s unique needs, ensuring both technical excellence and a love for the art form.
As a proud member of the Las Vegas Teachers Association, I’ve had the opportunity to teach countless students both virtually and in-person, in music schools and through my own studio. My students have completed levels 1 through 10 in both music performance and theory, earning certificates and recognitions for their achievements. I’ve also administered exams and participated in proctoring professional musical ensembles, ensuring that my students are well-prepared for every milestone. Beyond piano, I have over 20 years of experience playing the double bass, which I also teach to aspiring musicians. Over the years, I’ve hosted more than ten recitals and performed in numerous concerts. Additionally, my teaching extends beyond music; I also tutor students in English, math, and science, helping them excel academically as well as musically.

This teacher doesn’t show up to her scheduled group classes! And if she does she Denys every student access. Kicks us out immediately. So unprofessional why create classes that you never intend to teach or show up to?

Curriculum
My teaching style has been refined through years of experience, and I take pride in the success my students consistently achieve. I approach every lesson with patience and a deep understanding of each student’s unique learning pace, ensuring they feel supported and confident. I excel at breaking down complex topics and techniques, making them accessible to all students, regardless of their skill level. By demonstrating each piece myself, I offer a hands-on, immersive learning experience. Together, we delve into musical concepts through practical exercises and in-depth discussions, ensuring full comprehension and application.
I primarily use the Faber Piano Method books, which I believe are the best for providing a holistic music education. These books cover all essential areas: lesson books introduce students to pieces that build their repertoire, music theory books focus on reading notes and understanding symbols, technique books refine technical skills, and performance books include engaging songs for concerts and recitals. This well-rounded approach helps my students progress steadily and enjoyably, as they not only learn the fundamentals but also develop the confidence to perform at a high level.

As a local chapter of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, the Las Vegas Music Teachers Association (LVMTA) shares in MTNA's mission of "advancing the value of music study and music-making to society while supporting the careers and professionalism of teachers of music." Our mission is primarily to provide opportunities and a sense of community for independent music teachers and their students. We welcome teachers and aspiring teachers of all instruments and levels, regardless of age, race, orientation, or creed. We work together to deepen the musical culture in our region, and to constantly better ourselves and our programs to best serve our students.

I am able to help students prepare for testing in their respective piano levels. Students can be tested from primer level to level 10. They will receive a certificate for reaching their appropriate levels. Testing is held once a year. Every year, my students participate in this testing.

Education and Training
2014-2019
I attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I pursued a double major in Political Science and Music, a challenging path that required me to achieve all the necessary credentials to study both disciplines together. Being accepted into the university’s prestigious music program was a tremendous honor, reflecting my dedication and talent. My coursework included rigorous classes in political theory, constitutional law, and international relations, alongside advanced music theory, performance, and ensemble studies. Additionally, I studied under my own teacher at Family Music in Las Vegas for over 20 years, further honing my skills and deepening my passion for music. This diverse and enriching educational experience shaped both my academic and artistic pursuits.
Professional Experience
Throughout my career, I have performed extensively at concerts across Las Vegas, showcasing my talents in ensembles, sinfonias, bands, and symphonies. I have had the privilege of performing with esteemed groups such as the Las Vegas Honor Orchestra, Las Vegas Youth Orchestra, and The Desert Winds Ensemble. One of my proudest accomplishments was composing ballet music for an entire orchestral ensemble. My musical journey has also included participating in junior festivals, musicianship testing, piano recitals, and double bass concerts at the university. Additionally, I have served as a judge for these events, recognizing and awarding high honors to outstanding student performers. I have organized and hosted more than ten of my own recitals, carefully preparing each student for their performances, and have also collaborated with the Piano School of Las Vegas to host recitals. These experiences have allowed me to contribute significantly to the musical community and support the growth of countless students.
Teaching Experience
I began teaching at the Ensemble Arts Academy in September 2016, where I had my own dedicated group of students and enjoyed a wonderful experience. I was well-respected and built great friendships with the owners during my time there. Prior to that, in 2015, I taught at Challenger School in Las Vegas, a prestigious institution known for its rigorous academic standards. Since 2014, I have run my own piano studio, where I’ve taught hundreds of students and continue to do so today. My teaching repertoire includes math, English, reading/writing, piano, and double bass. Additionally, I’ve taught online classes in geometry, K-12 math, anatomy and physiology, and AP Biology, helping students achieve impressive results. Since 2023, I’ve also been part of the teaching staff at the Las Vegas Piano School, contributing further to my extensive teaching experience.
