Anukriti Singh
About
I've been writing songs, playing guitar, and singing for as long as I can remember. Music has always been a source of healing—a tool to discern or participate in life, something accessible to share with others, and something sacred to share with myself.
I've previously worked as Academic Coordinator and Voice/Theory at Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, a job that further sealed my passion for muisc and music education.
Teaching Style
My teaching method is student-centered and focuses on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I believe in fostering creativity and self-expression, which is crucial in music education. I tailor my lessons to the individual needs and goals of my students, ensuring that they feel comfortable and motivated to explore their musicality.
Here are some things one can expect in a lesson with me:
- Sound knowledge of music theory: Whether you're a singer or instrumentalist, it is essential to know the building blocks of music
- Technique and Theory Integration: I emphasize the importance of music theory and vocal/instrumental techniques while making them relevant to the music my students love.
- Feedback and Growth: I prioritize constructive feedback and goal-setting to help students recognize their progress and areas for improvement.
- Interactive Learning: I encourage active participation through discussions, collaborative activities, and improvisation exercises.
Ultimately, my goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for music and help each student discover their unique voice and style.
Curriculum
Over the years, I have drawn inspiration from several sources and voice science experts/musicians. I shall be sharing these resources based on the needs of the student.
