About

🎤 About Me 🎤

Hi! I'm Meagan, a certified vocal coach and passionate performer dedicated to helping singers build healthy, confident, and expressive voices.

I completed my vocal coach certification through 1108 Vocal Studio, where I received specialized training in modern vocal technique, vocal health, and effective teaching methods. My goal is to make singing feel approachable while giving students the technical foundation they need to develop lasting, healthy vocal habits.

In addition to teaching, I have performed at a variety of venues and events, gaining valuable experience as a live vocalist. I also work as a professional session vocalist, recording background vocals for an international music production organization. These experiences have given me firsthand insight into both live performance and the recording process, allowing me to help students prepare for real-world musical opportunities.

Whether you're just beginning your singing journey or looking to refine your technique, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where every student feels comfortable growing at their own pace. I believe every voice is unique, and I love helping singers discover their authentic sound while building confidence and enjoying the process of making music.

Teaching Style

✨ My Teaching Style ✨

My lessons are encouraging, structured, and individualized. Every student has different goals, learning styles, and vocal strengths, so I tailor each lesson to meet their specific needs.

I focus on building healthy vocal habits through proper breath support, efficient vocal coordination, resonance, and freedom from unnecessary tension. Rather than simply telling students what to do, I explain why techniques work so they gain the knowledge and confidence to practice effectively between lessons.

Whether you're preparing for auditions, performances, recordings, or simply singing for enjoyment, I strive to create a positive environment where mistakes are welcomed as part of learning and every lesson leaves you feeling more confident than when you arrived.

Curriculum

📚 Teaching Method & Recommended Student Texts 📚

My lessons typically include:

• Vocal warm-ups designed to improve coordination and prevent strain.
• Breath support and efficient vocal production.
• Resonance and tone development.
• Register transitions (chest voice, head voice, and mixed voice).
• Range expansion using healthy technique.
• Pitch accuracy and ear training.
• Vocal agility and flexibility.
• Song interpretation, expression, and performance skills.
• Healthy practice routines students can use independently between lessons.

I regularly incorporate evidence-based exercises such as semi-occluded vocal tract (SOVT) exercises, lip trills, resonance exercises, sirens, scales, and targeted song application so students can immediately apply new techniques to the music they love.

Recommended materials are selected individually based on each student's age, experience, and goals. Students are welcome to bring songs they enjoy, and I also provide exercises, sheet music, practice recordings, and customized assignments as needed.
