About

I am Federico Utge, a guitarist, singer, pianist, and music teacher from Argentina. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance with a focus on Popular Music from the National University of Villa Maria, Cordoba, Argentina. I also studied Musical Composition with a focus on Popular Music at the same university.

I have been teaching music since 2010 and have worked with online students from different countries since 2020. In 2015, I founded El Arbol, an in-person music school in Villa Maria, Argentina, which later evolved into TreeTone Music Online, a fully online music school for students abroad.

As a musician, I have performed as a singer, guitarist, and pianist in bands, choirs, opera projects, popular music concerts, studio recordings, and solo projects. My main teaching focus on Lessonface is guitar, ukulele, and piano for adults who want live guidance, real feedback, and a clear path instead of jumping between random tutorials.

Teaching Style

My lessons are live, personal, and practical. In the first meeting, I ask about your musical background, your goals, the music you enjoy, and what has felt difficult or confusing so far. From there, I build a clear path so you know what to practice, how to practice it, and why each step matters.

I usually combine real songs with technique, rhythm, chords, ear training, and basic music theory when it helps the music make sense. If you are starting from scratch, we move step by step so you can play something meaningful from the beginning. If you are returning to music after a long break, we organize what you already know and rebuild confidence without pressure.

Many students come to me after trying videos or apps and feeling stuck. A live teacher can notice small details in your hands, rhythm, posture, sound, and practice habits, and help you correct them before they become frustrating. My goal is for every lesson to leave you with something concrete to play and a simple next step for the week.

Curriculum

I do not use one single method book for every student. I prefer to build a personalized path based on the student's goals, level, musical taste, and available practice time.

For beginners, I usually combine simple songs, chord charts, rhythm exercises, basic technique, ear training, and short weekly practice goals. When useful, I prepare custom materials such as chord diagrams, song sheets, practice notes, and small exercises created specifically for the student.

For returning players, I first identify what already works and what feels stuck. Then we organize technique, rhythm, repertoire, and musical understanding into a clear practice plan. I may recommend books, methods, or repertoire when they fit the student's goals, but I do not require students to buy a specific textbook before starting.

My lessons are especially useful for students who want to learn through real songs while still developing solid foundations in rhythm, technique, listening, and music theory.
