About
Hi friend! I am so glad you are interested in learning to play the harp! I am a mother of 4 and I love teaching. I have played the harp for 24 years, have won 2 national titles and been a part of the Philharmonic Orchestra in college. I am also trained as a teacher of the Suzuki method and studied under Mary Kay Waddington, author of the Suzuki Books for Harp. Additionally, I am a Certified Music Practitioner and have worked in hospice playing at the bedside for the ill and the dying. Music can greatly bless your life, so let's get started!
Teaching Style
I mainly teach the Suzuki method which means that students learn to play by ear before reading music. However, I have taught many of my students early on how to read music as they have become more comfortable and familiar with proper harp technique.
I am a stickler for correct technique as this is what sets you apart as a master musician. If you learn HOW to play the harp with proper hand position, you can learn to play any music that you want.
Curriculum
I have all of my students start with the Suzuki Harp Book Volume 1. This can be found on amazon at a low price.
