Hi, I’m Marla! I’m a classically trained pianist and online piano teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience.

I specialize in helping beginner students build a strong foundation in piano through a structured, encouraging, and modern approach. My teaching background includes private lessons, group lessons, in-home teaching, studio teaching, and online instruction.

I currently run Happy Hands Piano Academy, where I offer online beginner piano lessons for kids ages 6+. My main focus is my small-group beginner program, taught live over Zoom in a supportive class setting. Students learn step-by-step, build confidence, and benefit from learning alongside other beginners.

I also use an interactive practice app that gives students real-time feedback at home, helping them stay motivated and make progress between lessons.

My goal is to make beginner piano lessons feel clear, fun, and encouraging while still building real musical skills from the very beginning.

My teaching style is structured, encouraging, and beginner-focused. I believe young students learn best when lessons are clear, interactive, and positive.

I combine strong musical foundations with modern online tools, including live Zoom instruction, small-group learning, and an interactive practice app that supports students at home.

I focus on helping students build confidence, independence, rhythm, note reading, and musical understanding from the start — not just memorizing songs.

My online group classes are designed to be engaging and social while still giving students individual guidance and support.
