Gilberto Junior
About
Gilberto Peixoto Junior is a Brazilian pianist who began his musical journey at age 10, learning music by ear before enrolling at the local conservatory in São Paulo, Brazil. By age 13, he was already performing solo and with ensembles in various venues in the capital and rural areas. At 17, he began teaching and developing his first keyboard method, combining printed material with audio exercises.
A graduate in Music with a specialization in Piano from São Paulo State University, he joined the Unespiano extension project, giving recital lessons in public schools in the countryside of São Paulo. He currently divides his time between solo recitals and performances in chamber music groups, in addition to composing, arranging, and, of course, teaching music.
Teaching Style
Learn to master piano technique and interpretation, exploring works from diverse styles such as Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionism, and Jazz, with a focus on solo performance. Additionally, expand your musical expression by interpreting film and TV soundtracks, participating in rehearsals and ensemble performances, and developing your improvisation, achieving full freedom and expressiveness on the piano.
A personalized learning program adjusts content, pace, and strategies to the student's needs, ensuring greater engagement and effective learning. Here are the main steps for its development:
1. Technical and Musical Development
In the first few months, we work on instrument posture, finger independence, muscle relaxation, and sheet music reading. This helps students gain confidence in playing simple pieces and build a solid foundation for further development.
2. Transition to Intermediate Level
Learning is organized into gradual goals, combining technical exercises and challenging repertoire. At this stage, students improve their musical interpretation, develop fluidity, and expand their expressive playing skills.
3. Refined Technique and Personal Style
At the advanced level, students perform complex pieces, allowing them to make interpretive choices and build their musical identity. Studies include variations in rhythm, speed, and articulation that will prepare them for advanced repertoire and improvisation.

Piano lessons with Professor Gilberto are always fascinating and enjoyable. He answers questions patiently and clearly, teaching not only techniques but also sharing the creative process behind the music. He reveals composers' influences, contexts, and emotions, demonstrating a deep understanding of the piano. I recommend Professor Gilberto to anyone looking to learn piano in a dynamic and engaging way, benefiting from his unique approach and vast musical knowledge.

Gilberto Junior is a versatile teacher. We've studied everything from classical music to bossa nova, and his insights have been very helpful in improving my piano knowledge. The exercises he often suggests improve both technique and theory without exhausting the student.

Gilberto is an excellent teacher, with a sensitive and clear teaching style. He taught me piano for almost a year, and I improved a lot during that time. My teaching style is one of clear teaching techniques. He always arrived early in class, had the materials and tests ready, and was always very enthusiastic about teaching me. I recommend him because he loves what he does and is very knowledgeable.

A very good teacher with advanced technical skills. He's very attentive and concerned with the student's true learning. Even the slightest mistake is always noticed, no matter how much I try to hide it. I've been a piano student for a year and highly recommend him.

I have a big dream of playing the piano, thanks to Gilberto, this is becoming a reality. I really like his classes because, besides his method being used at major conservatories, he teaches in a way that everyone can understand. It is with great joy that I write this because with each lesson that passes, I feel closer to my dream.... Thank you, Gilberto

My 5-year-old son has lessons with Gilberto, a highly skilled, instructive, and patient professional. In a short time, he was able to teach him to play a section of the song "Asa Branca" (at the child's request). He teaches the theoretical part, but also considers the student's musical interests as part of his teaching. We highly recommend his lessons!
