Sadie Goodman
About
Sadie is an accomplished flutist whose performances have taken her to major concert halls across the United States, Europe, and Mexico. She has held the Principal Flute positions with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, New York Youth Symphony Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra of the USA, Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, and NEC Philharmonia. An avid soloist, she has appeared with the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and American Chamber Orchestra. Sadie has won numerous competitions, including the Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition and YoungArts National Arts Competition.
Teaching Style
Sadie’s teaching philosophy centers on each student’s unique goals, combining a strong foundation in sound and musicality with the freedom to develop their own individual artistic voice. She is attentive to detail while also guiding students toward broader artistic growth, ensuring steady progress and inspiration week by week.
Curriculum
For beginners to intermediate players, Sadie recommends starting with the Rubank Elementary Method and progressing to the Intermediate Method, as well as the Melodious and Progressive Studies for Flute revised by Robert Cavally. For more advanced players, she recommends Taffanel and Gaubert's Complete Flute Method.
