About
I enjoy helping students build confidence on the clarinet while developing strong fundamentals and healthy technique. I tailor each lesson to each student, focusing on developing a clear tone, effective practice habits, and overall musical growth. Drawing on my experience as a performer and educator, I value curiosity, consistency, and the celebration of progress, and strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students enjoy learning.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is encouraging, structured, and adaptable. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking musical risks. Lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience level, and goals, while maintaining a strong focus on fundamentals, healthy technique, and musical expression.
I emphasize clear explanations, positive reinforcement, and practical practice strategies so students can make steady progress and feel confident between lessons. My goal is to help students not only improve on the clarinet but also enjoy the learning process and develop independence as musicians.
Curriculum
My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s age, experience level, and goals. I focus on building strong fundamentals such as tone production, proper technique, rhythm, and music reading while helping students develop confidence and effective practice habits.
For beginners, lessons emphasize setup, sound, finger coordination, and musical basics clearly and encouragingly. For intermediate students, we expand to include articulation, phrasing, scales, and the development of musical expression. I prioritize healthy technique and learning how to practice so students can make consistent progress between lessons.
Online lessons include clear demonstrations, guided exercises, and specific weekly goals to keep students engaged and motivated.
Materials are selected based on each student’s level. Additional materials and exercises may be provided as PDFs when helpful.
