Inbar Paz

I am an award-winning jazz bassist, composer, bandleader, and music educator based in New York City. I began studying violin at age six and transitioned to the upright bass at fifteen. I received extensive formal training in both classical and jazz performance and was awarded multiple Keren Sharett excellence scholarships throughout my studies.

In 2017, my ensemble, SIJ Trio, won first place in the Women in Jazz International competition. As a professional musician, I have performed at renowned jazz clubs and international festivals, collaborated with Grammy Award-winning artists, and participated in numerous concerts, theatrical productions, and recording projects. I currently lead my own jazz ensemble and am completing an original album as a bandleader, bassist, and composer.

I have more than 10 years of experience teaching piano, violin, upright bass, and electric bass to children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced musicians. My lessons may include technique, ear training, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance preparation.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals, interests, and learning style. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can build strong musical foundations, develop confidence, and discover their own musical voice.
