Andrea Cordova

I am a Honduran cellist with experience teaching students of all ages and levels. I have coached young musicians through UND Community Lessons, Northern Valley Youth Orchestras, and Poppler’s Music, helping beginners build strong fundamentals and supporting advancing students in developing musical expression and confidence. As a performer, I have played with ensembles such as YOA‑Honduras, OJCA, the Pittsburgh University Orchestra, and the Nazareth University Orchestra, and I served as principal cellist of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Honduras. I currently perform with regional symphonies in North Dakota and have collaborated with internationally recognized artists.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building strong fundamentals—posture, tone, technique—while also helping students develop musical expression and confidence. I enjoy working with beginners, young musicians, and advancing students, and I adapt my approach to match each student’s learning pace and goals. In lessons, I combine clear guidance with a positive, supportive atmosphere so students feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to grow.
