Hi, nice to see you here!

I’m a guitarist, musician and producer from the Netherlands, currently based in Sweden. I’ve been teaching guitar for more than 20 years, and I’m still actively involved in making and recording music myself.

My own project, Lazyknife, combines rock and metal with darker, atmospheric sounds. In 2014, I completed the Studio Production Certificate at Berklee College of Music, expanding my knowledge of recording, production and music-making.

Over the years, I’ve taught people at all kinds of levels — from complete beginners picking up a guitar for the first time to experienced players looking to develop their playing further. I enjoy helping people discover what they can do with the instrument and seeing their playing develop over time.

My goal is to help you enjoy playing guitar while steadily becoming a better guitarist. Whether you’re picking up the guitar for the first time or have been playing for years, the lessons are adapted to your level, interests and goals.

A Practical Foundation

I like working with a structured guitar method as the foundation of the lessons. There’s a lot of value in using material that has already been carefully developed to teach the instrument step by step. At the same time, the method is not a rigid programme that we simply work through from beginning to end.

We’ll use it as a framework and make room for the music you actually want to play, the questions you have, and the areas where you want to improve.

Playing & Understanding

I believe it’s useful to understand why something works, not just learn where to put your fingers.

Depending on your level and interests, lessons can include chords, scales, rhythm, technique, music theory, improvisation, reading music or learning songs. The balance between playing and understanding can change as you develop.

Learning Through Playing

A large part of learning guitar is simply getting your hands on the instrument and making music. We’ll spend plenty of time actually playing rather than turning every lesson into a theory class.

I also encourage students to record themselves when appropriate. Recording a song, exercise or piece of music gives you something concrete to work towards — and, over time, creates a record of your progress that you can look back on.

A Personal Approach

Everyone comes to the guitar for a different reason. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to play, you want to play your favourite songs, you want to start improvising, or you simply want to get better at an instrument you already enjoy.

The lessons should reflect that. We’ll work with a clear structure, but there is always room for your own interests and musical personality.

Lesson Duration

30-minute weekly lessons are a great starting point for both beginners and more experienced players. Consistency is more important than having long lessons, especially when you’re developing new skills.

If you later need more time for more advanced material, repertoire or specific projects, longer lessons can also make sense.
