Andrew Mirabile
About
I’m a singer, guitarist, and songwriter with over 20 years of professional performance experience, and I specialize in helping students become well-rounded musicians who can confidently play, sing, and express themselves through music. My approach is rooted in real-world musicianship—whether your goal is to perform, write songs, or simply enjoy playing at a higher level, I focus on helping you build skills that actually translate outside the practice room.
I studied Songwriting and Production at Berklee College of Music, and I’ve spent the last decade performing professionally across the U.S., Europe, and Southeast Asia. I’ve toured internationally (including solo and band tours in 2019, 2024, and 2025) and performed in countries such as Thailand, France, Italy, Germany, Nepal, and Cambodia. For over 10 years, I’ve worked as a guitarist and vocalist with the Silver Arrow Band, performing high-level live events and developing the kind of versatility, timing, and consistency that only comes from being on stage regularly. I also release my own original music and have recorded guitar for independent artists, which gives me a deep understanding of both the creative and technical sides of music.
Alongside performing, I’ve spent several years teaching, including 3 years at School of Rock in Albany, NY, where I worked with students of all ages and levels.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is relaxed, encouraging, and focused on quick, practical progress. I specialize in helping students learn how to play guitar and sing at the same time, improve their sense of rhythm and timing, and develop their voice in a natural, confident way. Rather than getting lost in theory alone, we focus on applying skills directly to songs you love so you can feel real progress right away.
Lessons are always tailored to your individual goals; whether that’s learning your favorite songs, writing your own music, or building the confidence to perform. I also work with non-native English speakers to improve pronunciation, phrasing, and expression when singing in English, helping them sound more natural and connected to the music.
Because of my years of live performance experience, I also help students develop the real-world skills that most lessons overlook. This includes dialing in your tone through amplifier settings and pedalboards, understanding how to sing into a microphone, and getting a clean, confident live sound. We can also work on stage presence, performance mindset, and overcoming nerves so you feel comfortable playing in front of others, whether that’s your first open mic or a full band setting.
Above all, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you move forward with clarity and confidence, while keeping the process engaging, creative, and enjoyable.
Curriculum
I focus on helping students get past the beginner “stuck” phase by building strong rhythm and timing first. We use a metronome to lock in your groove, clean up your playing, and make everything feel more natural and controlled.
At the same time, I break down the fretboard in a simple, practical way so you can start to see the notes instead of just guessing shapes, which opens the door to playing more freely and confidently.
