About
I'm Kyle, a music producer, engineer, mixer and songwriter based in Los Angeles with 25 years of professional experience across pop, rock, alternative, hip-hop, EDM, bass music, electronic, house and more. I hold an Associate of Arts in Music and Fine Arts from Jamestown Community College (JCC), Jamestown, NY (2001–2002). Over my career I have worked with a wide range of independent artists and bands, and since 2017 have served as the in-house producer and engineer for Exploding Stars of Mars. I spent 9 years (2016–2025) as an instructor at Icon Collective, one of LA's most respected music production schools, teaching studio techniques, ear training, and synthesis while mentoring hundreds of students at every level.
Teaching Style
I teach by doing. Every lesson is hands-on — we work directly in your DAW on your actual music, not on abstract exercises. I meet students where they are and build from there. Whether you've never opened a DAW or you're stuck trying to get your mixes to translate, I'll give you clear, practical guidance you can apply immediately. I'm patient, encouraging and direct — I won't waste your time.
Curriculum
I work with all major DAWs including Ableton, Logic Pro, FL Studio and Pro Tools. Lessons are customized to each student's goals and current level. No textbooks required — we use your own projects as the learning material. For students who want supplemental resources I can recommend specific YouTube channels, plugins and references based on where they want to go.
