Rob Landes

Rob Landes is a classically trained, crossover violinist turned content creator who utilizes his incredible skill-set to create online videos, often of a humorous nature, covering mainstream music from video games, movies, memes and anime. Much of his content relies on his phenomenal ability to learn music by ear and improvise complex arrangements on the spot through layering multiple riffs with the aid of a loop pedal.

Rob's own training came through Vesna Gruppman, a Moscow Conservatory–trained violinist and teacher whose approach shapes everything he does in the studio. The emphasis is on practicing efficiently rather than simply practicing more — students learn how to improve, not just what to play. Every area of violin playing is addressed methodically: tone production, finger dexterity, vibrato, intonation, and bow control, each broken down into specific, achievable steps.

Every lesson covers both technique and repertoire, and ends with a detailed practice plan — exactly what to work on before the next lesson and how to work on it. Students leave knowing what a productive week of practice actually looks like, which is often the difference between slow progress and fast progress. Rob also brings his experience learning by ear, improvising, and arranging to lessons for students interested in developing those skills alongside traditional training.
