About

Hi, I'm Priska — a senior piano educator with 20+ years of experience and a 99% pass rate across ABRSM, Trinity, and London College of Music exams (Grade 1–8).

I have trained 100+ students from Indonesia, the UK, Singapore, and South Korea, guiding them through international examinations, recitals, and competitions. My students have been nominated as Best ABRSM Performer in Jakarta, earned a scholarship to study in the United States supported by piano certifications, and performed at the Singapore Performing Arts Festival (SPAF).

I don't just teach students to press the right keys — I train them to think musically. My approach is built on cognitive understanding: students learn to analyze, problem-solve, and truly hear what they are playing. This is especially powerful for ABRSM and Trinity exam preparation, where independence and clarity of thought matter as much as technique.

Every lesson is structured around your specific goals — whether you are preparing for a Grade exam, building sight-reading skills, recovering from a plateau, or simply falling in love with the piano. I welcome students of all ages, from children as young as 5 through to adults returning to piano.

"True success is when a student not only passes an exam, but also develops a deep and lasting connection with music."

Teaching Style

My teaching style is structured, adaptive, and deeply student-centered. I believe that real musical growth happens when a student understands why — not just what to play.

I use a cognitive-based approach inspired by Kodály pedagogy, training students to audiate (hear music internally), analyze their pieces, and solve technical problems independently. This builds the kind of musical thinking that goes far beyond memorization — producing students who are confident in exams, on stage, and in lifelong learning.

In practice, this means every lesson is purposefully planned around the student's current pieces, exam requirements, and personal goals. I break down complex passages systematically — hands separately, slow tempo, then gradually up to speed. I give clear, honest feedback while keeping the environment encouraging and enjoyable.

I adapt naturally to each student's age, learning style, and cultural background. Having taught students from Indonesia, the UK, Singapore, South Korea, and China — in both English and Mandarin — I am experienced at meeting every student exactly where they are. Whether your child is 5 years old and hesitant to start, or you are an adult returning to piano after years away, I bring the same patience, structure, and genuine care to every lesson.
