About

I am a classically trained percussionist and a graduate of The Juilliard School, currently based in Hungary where I teach at a music school and maintain an active performing career. I’ve had the privilege of performing with orchestras and ensembles around the world, including appearances at venues like Carnegie Hall or Concertgebouw Amsterdam as well as collaborating with members of the New York Philharmonic and other outstanding musicians.

Alongside performing, teaching has become a central part of my musical life. I work with students of all ages and levels: from complete beginners discovering music for the first time to advanced students preparing for auditions, competitions, and conservatory entry.

My goal as a teacher is not only to help students build strong technical skills, but also to guide them toward a deeper understanding and appreciation of music. Whether you’re picking up sticks for the first time or refining advanced repertoire, I aim to create a supportive, focused, and inspiring learning environment tailored to your individual goals.

Teaching Style

My teaching is highly individualized. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to fit your specific goals, learning style, and pace. At the beginning of our work together, we’ll make sure to define clear and achievable goals, whether that’s building fundamentals, exploring new styles, or preparing for auditions.

For beginners, I focus on building a strong foundation: proper technique, rhythmic understanding, curiosity and confidence. For more advanced students, lessons may center on repertoire, audition preparation, musical interpretation, and refining technical control across different percussion instruments.

I aim to approach all of my lessons with flexibility, patience, and creativity to ensure that each student feels supported and empowered. Above all, I want students to not only improve, but to genuinely connect with the music they are playing.

Curriculum

I draw from a wide range of established percussion methods, mixed with my own exercises. The below list gives just a couple of examples! Ultimately, materials are tailored to each student’s interests and level.

Snare Drum: The All-American Drummer (Charley Wilcoxon), Intermediate Snare Drum Studies (Mitchell Peters)
Mallets: Modern School for Xylophone, Marimba and Vibraphone (Morris Goldenberg), Method of Movement (Leigh Howard Stevens)
Timpani: Symphonic Studies for Timpani (Nick Woud)
Drum Set: A Fresh Approach to the Drumset (Mark Wessels), Survival Guide for the Modern Drummer (Jim Riley)

For more advanced students, I incorporate orchestral excerpts, solo repertoire, and audition-specific material. I’m also happy to work with school band/orchestra music or specific pieces students bring to lessons.
