Mason Pharis

My name is Mason and I have been playing drums guitar for 14 years and guitar guitar for 15. Although I started with guitar, drums are my primary instrument. I took both drum and guitar lessons as a child and teenager. I am originally the subarbs of Washington DC but am currently based in Germany! I currently am a drum teacher at a private music school in Berlin offering lessons to both childrena and adults in both English and German. 

I studied Music Business at BIMM Berlin and Music Management at Macromedia Hochschule for my Bachelor and Master respectively. I have played in bands both in the US and Germany. I have experience playing both live and in the the studio. Outside of playing drums and guitar I also am enthusiastic about Music Business with an interest in legacy artists and artist management. Under the guidence of author and music historian, Dr. Jennifer Otter Bickerdike, I was a research assistant for the book, "Eternal Flame," the offical authorized biography of The Bangles. 

I have played drums for Berlin-based bands such as Wind Mile and The River Speaks and am currently playing both drums and guitar for Phoebe June, an indie-pop/ballad singer-songwriter based in Berlin. 

My philosophy is to teach to the student and to cater to their learning style. As students and learners we all have different learning styles that make learning both efficient, productive, and fun! My first drum teacher fostered a love of drumming by learning  what made drums most interesting for me. As your drum or guitar teacher I use this same approach to ensure lessons cater to you or your childs learning style and most importantly are fun! My goal as your music teacher is that learning is made accessible and enjoyable for all learning styles.
