Caitlin Chipman
About
Hi, I’m Caitlin — a Nashville-based vocal instructor, recording artist, and performer with over 10 years of experience teaching singers of all ages and skill levels. My teaching style combines strong technical foundations with encouragement, confidence-building, and real-world performance insight. I’ve worked with hundreds of students through private lessons, group vocal classes, audition preparation, and virtual coaching, helping singers develop healthy technique, stage presence, vocal control, and confidence in their unique sound.
From 2016–2020, I taught private voice lessons and group classes at the Rock Underground School of Music in Greenwood Lake, New York, where I worked with both beginner and developing vocalists in one-on-one and ensemble settings. Since relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, I have continued teaching private voice lessons virtually for students across the country.
In addition to teaching, I’m an active recording artist and live performer. Performing under my artist name Caitlin Caporale, I became a Top 20 finalist on NBC’s The Voice in 2015 in Los Angeles, California. During my time on the show, I was mentored by Pharrell Williams, Lionel Richie, and Nate Ruess of fun., and had the unforgettable opportunity to perform an impromptu duet with Christina Aguilera on national television.
My professional performance experience includes appearing at the K104.7 K-Fest Summer Concert in Wappingers Falls, New York in 2015 alongside artists including Robin Thicke, Flo Rida, Charli XCX, and Walk the Moon. I have also performed at Rockwood Music Hall and The Bowery Electric in New York City, as well as Nashville venues including Tin Roof, The Local, Commodore Grille, The Well Coffeehouse and more!
I continue to write, record, and release original music on all major streaming platforms while also creating music and vocal content online for an audience of over 22,000 followers on TikTok. My goal as a teacher is to help every student feel confident, capable, and inspired while developing a strong, healthy, and authentic voice.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and technique-focused. I believe singers grow best when they feel supported and confident, so I create a positive environment where students can explore their voice without fear or pressure. I balance strong vocal fundamentals with creativity and performance coaching, helping students build both skill and confidence.
I adapt my teaching approach to each individual student based on their age, goals, and experience level. For younger singers, I use engaging and approachable exercises that make learning fun while building healthy vocal habits. For beginner and developing vocalists, I focus on building confidence, consistency, and clear foundational technique. For more advanced students, I incorporate performance coaching, stylistic development, vocal control, and audition preparation.
As both a teacher and active performer, I bring real-world industry experience into lessons while keeping instruction practical, supportive, and easy to understand. My goal is always to help students discover their unique voice and feel proud of the progress they make.
Curriculum
My teaching method is built around developing strong, healthy vocal technique through clear, step-by-step instruction tailored to each student’s goals and skill level. Lessons are customized for every singer and focus on building confidence, consistency, and long-term vocal health.
