About

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, where I developed a keen sense of design and discipline. Over the past 40 years, I channeled this creativity into mastering the guitar, specializing in rock and metal. I completed private classical guitar training under a dedicated instructor from 1990 to 1993, during which I studied the Carulli method book, developing a strong foundation in classical technique and musical expression. In parallel, I pursued private electric guitar sessions from 1991 to 1994, where I studied Troy Stetina's "Heavy Metal Lead Guitar" volumes 1 and 2, along with Speed Technique, mastering both rock and metal styles.

I composed the soundtracks for documentary films as well as TV promotions, adding emotional and narrative depth to each project. I also performed as a session musician on educational music projects linked to the American University in Cairo, and I have performed at numerous live venues across Egypt, including Dido in 1995, as well as private social events.

I have been providing private lessons since 1996, tailoring my approach to each student's needs. From 2009 to 2012, I taught at the French University in Egypt, guiding students to use modern technology in cinematic projects, integrating visual and audio arts. From 2009 to 2011, I also taught 3D animation using advanced technology at IAEMS University. Additionally, at Greenland School, I taught young students from 2011 how to apply design and technology to create audio-visual presentations.

Now, I teach students in English, Arabic, and French, focusing on tailored techniques and a passion for music theory. My students appreciate my personalized approach, as I carefully address each student's unique technical challenges. I also run a dedicated Arabic-language Facebook page with over 11,500 followers, where I share gear reviews, technique tips, and performance insights. Whether you're just starting out or refining your skills, I’m here to help you succeed."

Teaching Style

My teaching style balances core music theory with practical technique exercises. Each lesson integrates structured drills, inspired by the Wolf Marshall and Troy Stetina books, as well as classical pieces and modern songs. I incorporate bite-sized theory alongside technical practice, and to keep things engaging, we periodically perform short pieces. I tailor each lesson to the individual student, adapting the pace and focus based on their strengths and needs. Rather than a preset curriculum, I assess progress weekly, ensuring every exercise and piece aligns with their personal goals.

Curriculum

I teach step-by-step, starting with three core sections: rhythm guitar, fingerpicking, and soloing. Each exercise includes both notation and tablature. We practice together, and then students apply them as weekly routines. After this foundation, I personalize lessons to their goals. In line with this method, here’s what some of my students say about their progress using these methods:
