Wael Salah Ali
About
I am a professional Arabic singer, oud player, and music educator based in Dubai, with more than 10 years of teaching and performance experience across the Gulf region.
I currently work as an Arabic Singing and Oud Instructor at the Arabic Music Institute under Emaar Entertainment in Dubai, where I teach students from different cultures, ages, and musical backgrounds.
My approach to teaching is based on making Arabic music accessible, enjoyable, and deeply expressive. I combine traditional Arabic musical heritage with modern teaching methods to help students build confidence, musical understanding, and authentic artistic expression.
Lessons are personalized according to each student’s goals, level, and interests. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced performer, I create a comfortable and inspiring learning environment that encourages progress step by step.
I specialize in:
• Arabic singing techniques
• Oud performance
• Arabic maqamat and ear training
• Breath control and vocal development
• Tarab and classical Arabic repertoire
• Rhythm and musical expression
• Performance preparation and stage confidence
I teach:
• Children and adults
• Beginners to advanced students
• Arabic speakers and non-Arabic speakers
• Students interested in authentic Middle Eastern music
In addition to teaching, I am also the founder of Rouh Dubai Choir, a multicultural choir dedicated to preserving and presenting Arabic and Emirati musical heritage through artistic performance and cultural engagement.
My goal is not only to teach music, but also to help students connect emotionally with the beauty and spirit of Arabic music in a simple, professional, and inspiring way.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is supportive, practical, and personalized for each student.
I focus on helping students understand Arabic music naturally through listening, repetition, vocal guidance, and real musical practice rather than complicated theory alone.
In singing lessons, I work on vocal technique, breath control, pronunciation, maqamat, expression, and confidence. In oud lessons, I focus on technique, rhythm, musical feeling, improvisation, and authentic Arabic style.
I adapt every lesson according to the student’s age, level, musical background, and goals. Whether the student wants to sing professionally, learn Arabic songs for enjoyment, improve musical understanding, or discover Arabic culture through music, I create a comfortable and motivating learning experience.
My lessons combine discipline with enjoyment, making students feel inspired while progressing step by step with clear results.
Curriculum
My teaching method combines traditional Arabic music foundations with modern and interactive learning techniques. I believe that music should be understood through both feeling and structured practice, so lessons are designed to develop musical ear, technique, creativity, and artistic confidence together.
Depending on the student’s level and goals, lessons may include:
• Vocal warm-ups and breathing exercises
• Arabic maqamat training
• Ear training and rhythm practice
• Oud technique and finger exercises
• Improvisation (Taqsim)

I use a step-by-step approach that keeps lessons enjoyable, practical, and easy to follow for both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers.
