About
I received my certification to teach English as a Second Language from International TEFL Academy in 2025, and my Master's degree from the Univeristy of Utah in 1997. I was Senior Managing Editor at Zenith News for 12 years, where I won two first-place awards for my writing. I am currently teaching English to Ukranian student through ENGin. I have 15 years experience teaching writing and content production skills.
I specialize in teaching business English and professional/acaedemic writing, with a focus on improving clarity and prose structure. I teach editing and proofreading, with an emphasis on refining content and correcting errors. I teach non-fiction writing, research skills, and how to create compelling content from data. I mentor new writers seeking to break into trying to get their work published, how to compose compelling press releases, and interviewing sources for news stories and public relations.
Teaching Style
In addition in to using the Lexical Method to teach spoken English and comprehension at all levels (total beginer-C2), My teaching style is practical, engaging, and focused on helping students communicate with confidence in the real world. I combine the Lexical Method with hands-on coaching in writing, editing, and content creation, making lessons interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether we’re improving spoken English, polishing professional writing, or turning research into compelling stories, I focus on clarity, creativity, and building strong communication habits. I especially enjoy helping writers find their voice, sharpen their ideas, and gain the confidence to publish, pitch, and tell meaningful stories.
Curriculum
When teaching English as a Second Language, I use the Lexical Method to help students learn vocabulary and language patterns in context rather than through isolated grammar drills. This approach builds real-world communication skills by developing fluency, comprehension, and confidence through natural language acquisition, conversation-based instruction, and personalized feedback.
I teach writing, editing, proofreading, research, and content creation with a strong emphasis on clarifying the question, crafting readable sentences, and effective storytelling. I focus on interviewing and research skills, teaching students how to locate reliable information, evaluate sources for accuracy, and create content that is balanced, engaging, and informative.
