Alex Farrar
About
Hello! I am an American saxophonist and electronic musician who has been teaching for 8+ years and playing for 14. I love all kinds of music and art; I think human expression through extra-linguistic media is one of the most liberating and satisfying pursuits as it not only allows us to express ourselves but also connect us to others and to history.
Teaching Style
I value listening and aural skills above all, using the language of music theory to not only explain the sounds we hear but to also develop an intuition that allows us to expect and discover new and unexpected harmonic paths.
Curriculum
My teachers always told me, "the answer is always on the record."
