Elleyana Kominars
About
I have been teaching piano for 17 years and have spent most of that time teaching private lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. I began teaching at age 11, working with elementary-aged children, and over the years I’ve developed experience teaching from beginner to advanced levels, helping them grow in both skill and confidence. From 2018–2020, I also taught at Guitar Center, where I worked with a wide variety of students and learning styles.
I began intensive classical piano training at age 6 and started performing at age 9. I spent all my teenage years competing in Maryland state competitions and events. In high school, I started playing keyboard on worship teams, which sparked a passion for improvisation and contemporary worship music. Since then, I’ve continued developing as both a worship musician and songwriter while maintaining a deep love and appreciation for classical music. I studied Music Composition at Berklee Online for two years where I took music production, theory, and orchestration classes.
I am currently part of a band called The Worship Commission. We have been playing together for the past 3 years, leading worship at conferences and events while also writing original music.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is highly personalized because every student has different goals, musical interests, and ways of learning. Whether you want to build a strong classical foundation, learn and apply music theory to your playing, develop improvisation skills, or grow in songwriting, I tailor lessons to help you achieve your goals in a way that is both encouraging and effective.
My goal is not only to help students improve technically, but also to help them enjoy music and become confident musicians.
