Regina Voskanian

I am a professional violinist and violin teacher with a strong background in solo, chamber, and orchestral performance. I am passionate about helping students build solid technical foundations while developing confidence, musical expression, and a lifelong enjoyment of music.

I completed my professional training in Ukraine, graduating with honours from Mariupol State Music College, then earned my Master's degree in Violin Performance from the I. P. Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts (2015–2021). My studies included intensive training in violin performance, chamber music, orchestral repertoire, music theory, and pedagogy.

As a professional violinist, I have performed with professional orchestras and chamber ensembles across Ukraine and Europe, including the Kharkiv Symphony Orchestra, Mariupol Chamber Orchestra, Aachen Symphony Orchestra, Neue Philharmonie Hamburg, Cottbus State Orchestra, the Lviv Chamber Ensemble Quartet, and the Lviv Quartet.

My performances have taken place in distinguished concert halls and theatres, including the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Isarphilharmonie in Munich, Theater Aachen, the Cottbus State Theatre, the Kharkiv Philharmonic Hall, and the Mariupol Philharmonic. Performing in these venues has allowed me to collaborate with conductors and musicians from different countries while performing a broad repertoire ranging from Baroque and Classical works to contemporary music.

I have over seven years of teaching experience working with children, teenagers, and adults, both in person and online. During this time, I have taught students ranging from complete beginners to advanced violinists, including amateur musicians who play for personal enjoyment as well as students with professional goals.

My teaching combines the strong technical foundation of the Eastern European violin tradition with ideas drawn from internationally respected pedagogical approaches. I have been influenced by the traditions associated with great violin pedagogues such as Leopold Auer and Yehudi Menuhin, while always adapting my methods to the individual student.

In lessons, I focus on:

healthy posture and natural coordination,

tone production and bow control,

intonation and ear development,

musical expression and phrasing,

confidence and relaxation while playing,

and building effective practice habits.

In lessons, I encourage healthy posture, body awareness, relaxed movement, focused listening, and mindful practice habits. I believe this approach supports not only technical development and sound quality, but also confidence, concentration, and long-term healthy progress on the instrument.
