About
As a child, I was blessed with parents and brothers who constantly challenged me to try new things, to experiment, to explore, to analyze, to create. As an adult, I became a teacher and have taught journalism, photography, and drama. I then became a counselor, working with at risk and discipline problem students in alternative school settings.
When I was close to retirement, I asked for and received a lathe for my birthday. I spent several happy years turning bowls, platters, boxes, ornaments. Eventually, I decided that there was more to woodturning than turning wood and I began to experiment with pyrography. Today I rarely let a piece of turned wood leave my house without adding a little, or a lot of pyrography. And, pyrography can be added to so many other mediums besides wood.
