About

I first wanted to play the cello when I was 7 years old, after listening to Saint-Saëns' 'The Swan' being performed at a local concert. Shortly after, I began to have cello lessons, and absolutely loved it!

I have been lucky to study with fantastic teachers during my education, most recently with David Cohen (principal cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra).

I have been mentored by the London Symphony orchestra and the Royal Opera House on training schemes.

I studied the cello at Trinity Laban for my master's degree and I studied at Durham University for my undergraduate degree.

I also have a PGCE in group instrumental teaching.

I am friendly and approachable, fully DBS checked, and have extensive training in safeguarding.

After graduating from Durham, I spent three years working in two of the UK's specialist music schools; the Purcell School and Wells Cathedral School. Working here gave me extensive experience teaching 1-1, and in small groups and ensembles.

Teaching Style

I  want all my pupils to feel supported and inspired in my lessons, and I will adapt my approach to each pupil, depending on their needs and goals.

I am happy to teach all ages, from absolute beginners to post grade 8.

I aim to teach cello technique in a clear and approachable way, which helps us to to create the best sound that we can, and creates the music.
