About
I am a professional guitarist and educator with over 12 years of teaching experience and formal training from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. My background includes live performance, studio recording, songwriting, and touring/playing in band settings, which allows me to connect technical guitar skills to real-world musicianship.
My teaching approach is structured, practical, and fully personalized. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s goals and level, with a clear focus on steady, measurable progress. I guide students step by step so they always know what to practice and how to improve between lessons.
Lessons can include technique development, song learning, improvisation, ear training, rhythm, fretboard knowledge, music theory, and creative skills such as songwriting and arranging.
I work with beginners through advanced players, helping students build confidence, musical understanding, and independence on the instrument—whether they want to learn songs, improve technique, or develop improvisation and performance skills.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is centered on making the learning process enjoyable, motivating, and personally meaningful for each student. In my experience, students make the greatest progress when they are genuinely engaged and excited about what they are learning. For this reason, I design each lesson around the music, goals, and interests that inspire them most.
Every student receives a personalized approach rather than a one-size-fits-all method. During our introductory lesson, I assess the student's experience level, musical goals, strengths, areas for improvement, and learning style. Based on this, I create a structured roadmap that delivers steady progress while maintaining enjoyment and enthusiasm throughout the learning process.
While lessons remain goal-oriented and organized, I place equal importance on technical development, creativity, and real-world music-making. Whether a student is interested in performing, songwriting, improvisation, music theory, or simply playing their favorite songs, lessons are tailored to help them reach their individual goals in the most effective and enjoyable way possible.
One of my main priorities as a teacher is to help students feel real progress from the very first lessons. Small wins build confidence, motivation, and excitement to keep learning. I believe that when students enjoy the process and can clearly see their improvement, their musical growth naturally gains momentum.
Curriculum
My teaching approach is individualized and goal-oriented. Following an initial assessment, I develop a structured learning plan based on the student's experience level, musical interests, technical abilities, and long-term objectives. Lessons may cover guitar technique, fretboard knowledge, music theory, ear training, improvisation, songwriting, rhythm development, and repertoire studies depending on the student's needs.
I teach students ranging from complete beginners to advanced players and adapt lesson content accordingly. My background in professional performance, composition, recording, and over 12 years of teaching experience allows me to work across multiple styles, including rock, blues, metal, jazz, pop, acoustic, and classical guitar.
Rather than relying on a single method book, I utilize a combination of established educational resources, transcriptions, technique studies, ear-training exercises, theory materials, and customized lesson content. Recommended materials are selected individually based on the student's goals and may include song-based studies, technical exercises, improvisation concepts, and music theory resources.
I also maintain a structured record of each student’s progress in Notion, functioning as a learning diary to track development, document goals, and ensure continuity between lessons.
