About

I’m a guitarist, songwriter, composer, and music producer with a background that bridges classical performance, contemporary songwriting, and music technology. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance, a Master’s degree in Music and Technologies with an emphasis on electroacoustic composition from the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, and a Master’s degree in Music Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Composition and Data Driven Music Performance at the University of Oregon.

For the past fifteen years I’ve taught students of all ages and backgrounds, from complete beginners to experienced musicians looking to refine their technique, write original music, or develop as artists. Alongside teaching, I’ve toured as a singer songwriter, released five original albums, written music for independent artists across Europe and the United States, and performed at venues including BBC Maida Vale Studios in London.

My lessons are built around your goals. Some students want to become confident guitar players. Others want to write songs, improvise, understand music theory, produce their own recordings, or prepare for performances. I enjoy helping students connect these different areas because, in my experience, they all support one another. Learning an instrument should also develop your creativity, confidence, and musical identity.

I believe the best lessons are collaborative. Rather than following the same method with everyone, I adapt each lesson to the individual student, balancing technique with creativity from the very beginning. Whether we’re working on your favorite songs, developing improvisation skills, writing your first original composition, or recording music in Ableton Live, my goal is to make every lesson practical, inspiring, and enjoyable.

I teach guitar, songwriting, composition, music production, music theory, improvisation, and artist development. My lessons are available in English and Italian, and I welcome students of all ages and experience levels.

Teaching Style

I believe every student learns differently, so I never follow the exact same lesson plan twice. Whether your goal is to play your favorite songs, improvise with confidence, write original music, prepare for auditions, or produce your own recordings, I build each lesson around what you want to achieve while making sure you develop strong musical foundations along the way.

I like to balance technique with creativity from the very first lesson. Rather than spending months only on exercises, I encourage students to make music as early as possible through improvisation, songwriting, ear training, and repertoire they genuinely enjoy. Technical skills are important, but they become much more meaningful when they’re connected to real musical expression.

My lessons are interactive, practical, and relaxed. I ask questions, encourage experimentation, and adapt my teaching as students grow. My goal is not only to help you become a better guitarist, songwriter, or producer, but to help you become a more confident and independent musician who understands how music works and enjoys making it.

Curriculum

My teaching approach is tailored to each student’s goals, experience, and musical interests. For classical guitar, I draw from well established pedagogical methods and repertoire, including the Hal Leonard Guitar Method, Mel Bay Modern Guitar Method, Suzuki Guitar School, Aaron Shearer, Carcassi’s 25 Melodic and Progressive Studies, Fernando Sor Studies, Leo Brouwer’s Estudios Sencillos, and Giuliani’s Right Hand Studies, selecting materials appropriate to each student’s level. Alongside technical development, I emphasize musicality, ear training, improvisation, and performance.

For contemporary guitar, songwriting, composition, and music production, my lessons are primarily project based rather than textbook driven. Students work on music they enjoy as well as their own original ideas, learning through real creative projects. Depending on the student’s goals, we may explore harmony, melody writing, lyric writing, arrangement, improvisation, recording, and production using professional tools such as Ableton Live. For students interested in music theory, I often recommend resources such as Tonal Harmony by Kostka and Payne and The Musician’s Guide to Theory and Analysis by Clendinning and Marvin. Supplementary scores, exercises, listening assignments, and personalized materials are provided throughout the learning process.
